Summer events return to the Stonetown

It is shaping up to be a full summer of fun in the Stonetown, as community events make their safe return after a two-year absence.

“The Town of St. Marys, as well as all our community event organizers, are excited to be planning the events residents and visitors have missed these past two years,” says Town of St. Marys Events Coordinator Andrea Macko. “We’re optimistically planning for a busy summer while working with public health to ensure safety remains at the foreground.”

  • The St. Marys Farmers’ Market begins its regular season on Saturday, May 7 at Milt Dunnell Field, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Follow the market on Facebook to stay in the loop about vendors and special events.

  • The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Induction Day on Saturday, June 18 will be a special one as the 2020 and 2022 inductees are honoured. The induction, which begins at 1:00 p.m., is part of a full weekend of activities; visit the Ball Hall’s website for more information.

  • The Rotary Club of St. Marys “Brews and Food” Fest takes over the Ball Hall grounds on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19 from noon to 6:00 p.m. for this much-anticipated event. Food trucks are free to access for all ages, but tickets must be purchased online via Eventbrite for the alcoholic beverage component.

  • The Quarry opens for the season on Saturday, June 25, with an incredible new feature: the SuperSplash Fun Park! This floating playground is suitable for ages six and up. Online reservations for the park will open at the beginning of June. Stay tuned to the Quarry webpage  for details to be announced in May.

  • The St. Marys Public Library begins its free summer “Movies at Cadzow Park” series on Thursday, June 30 at dusk, with additional dates of July 15, July 29, August 19, September 1, and September 16. Movies will appeal to all ages, with titles to be announced. Follow the library on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

  • St. Marys will commemorate Canada Day with a celebration of our community’s creativity at Cadzow Park on Friday, July 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Local live music and an artisans’ market will complement reflections on our country’s history. Market vendor application forms can be found here.

  • Homecoming-Heritage 2022 begins an incredible weekend of events with a parade and street dance the evening of Friday, July 1. Saturday includes a Farmers’ Market breakfast, a DCVI reunion, Heritage Festival fun downtown and an evening licensed dance at the Pyramid Recreation Centre headlined by Darcy John! Details and more are available on the Homecoming-Heritage webpage, as well as on Facebook and Instagram.

  • Kin Summerfest returns to Milt Dunnell Field July 21 to 23, with a midway, live entertainment, refreshment tent and more! Details will be announced on the Kinsmen website and Facebook page.

  • Melodies at the Museum returns to the Cadzow Amphitheater on Wednesday, August 3, and each Wednesday evening in August. Musical acts for this St. Marys Museum fundraiser will be announced; follow the Museum on Facebook and Instagram.

All events will be subject to current public health regulations. Be sure to subscribe to the Discover St. Marys events calendar to stay in the know! Accounts are free and notifications can be customized!
